Sagiri wakes up in episode 5 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, titled “The Samurai and the Woman.”

It was an interesting episode focused on Sagiri’s development and introduced some new characters. Gabimaru and Sagiri’s conversation near the end of the episode was really soothing.

Seeing the other side of Gabimaru is always a treat. We got to meet Tenza and Nurugai. Their bond is sweet and innocent. Trouble seems to have surrounded Sagiri by the end.

1. Episode 6 Speculations

Giant Rokurouta will attack Sagiri in episode 6 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.

It will be an action-packed episode with Sagiri proving herself and her colleagues her true worth. I am excited to see all the action and drama unfolding in the next episode, as something terrible might happen.

Tenza and Nurugai are in for a surprise, and we will get to meet one of the main antagonists of the anime. I just hope the anime maintains the same pace and quality so that those scenes can be as shocking as they were in the manga.

Episode 6 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku will be released on Saturday, May 6, 2023. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Saturday.

3. Episode 5 Recap

Sagiri wakes up and rushes to find Gabimiaru, who is chilling and making some dinner with the rest of the prisoners and Asaemons. They all discuss the current situation.

They also share the information they have gathered till now. The place is getting creepier, and the monsters are weird as they don’t have any reproductive parts and are more like malformed gods.

They decide it is better first to study the ecology of the place and then take any steps. Gabimaru is happy, given the weirdness of the place. The elixir of life is definitely there.

Later, Genji tells Sagiri to go away as she will die there, and as the daughter of the head of the clan, her responsibility is to marry the next head. She is only good as a sword-tester and executioner and is not strong enough for the island.

Senta objects, saying it won’t be easy as no samurai has ever returned from the island. Meanwhile, Tenza Asaemon and his prisoner Nurugai try to escape the island on a boat.

Due to dense fog, they are not able to see anything. Tenza tells Nurugai that out of all the criminals, he is the only one that deserves to be free the most. They reach a place where hordes of broken ships float around.

They get attacked by gross sea monsters. Nurugai starts thinking that all this is divine punishment. We get to his flashback, where his clan was annihilated because they didn’t submit to the shogunate’s rule.

Nurugai thinks it is his fault as he was the one who took the samurais there.  He gets captured and sentenced to death when Tenza shows up and offers him a way to escape.

Back in the present, Nurugai gives up fighting the monsters and being alive, seeing Kisho Asaemon’s body. Tenza asks him to say whether he wants to live or die, and Nurugai replies that he wants to live.

So, together they fight their way back to a boat and end up on the island again.

While refreshing up, Tenza finds out that Nurugai is a girl. Senta half-agrees with Genji but thinks they want more allies now, and only Sagiri can stop Gabimaru when needed.

Gabimaru thanks Sagiri for calming him down and strengthening his resolve. He says that she is stronger than him. He doesn’t understand how, but he feels quite at peace.

The next morning, Sagiri refuses to leave the island. Genji gets angry with her, and they start arguing until Rokurouta shows up and removes Genji’s guts with one slap.

Gabimaru: The Hollow is a ninja assassin who is on death row. He feels nothing and can’t be killed due to his training as a shinobi. Yet, when he faces Asaemon Sagiri, he realizes his will to live and return to his wife.
