It was yet another epic episode filled with blood, love, and emotion. It was great to see how much more detail the anime puts into the story than the manga.

Gabimaru and Sagiri clash blades with each other. The situation turned out to be entirely different than what it was meant to be. The criminals went out of hand and caused havoc. Now, Gabimaru is facing an even bigger threat than his fellow criminals.

Sagiri and Gabimaru will learn more about the island in episode 4 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.

I am so happy to see just how wonderfully the manga is being adapted. I can’t wait to see the madness and chaos grow with every episode because it will only worsen.

Gabimaru will face these new monsters along with some fellow criminals. Some more mysteries and questions, along with the ulterior motives of the characters, will be revealed in the next episode. We might get to see the series’ main antagonist in this episode itself.

3. Episode 3 Recap

The episode starts with an old tale of the chief of Iwagakure, who is known to be immortal. Once, he was pierced by numerous blades and arrows but still stood strong.

Gabimaru believes that the elixir of life does exist. Sagiri finds the place very beautiful, but Gabimaru finds it creepy. He breaks free his hand, but Sagiri reminds her that she is his executioner, not his ally.

Suddenly, another prisoner throws a chained metal ball at Gabimaru. He thinks he has killed him, but Gabiimaru wakes up with a dislocated neck. Gabimaru shows Sagiri that Twister Keiun’s hands are not bound.

Twister Keiun’s asaemon doesn’t care about what his convict does and thinks it is better to let them do what they want. Keiun launches an attack on Gabimaru, but the latter is unscratched by any of his attacks and throws Keiun away with one blow.

However, Keiun stands up again, but he is easily defeated by Gabimaru, who fought with his hands tied. Kisho, the asaemon responsible for Keuin, begins leaving the island and tells Sagiri to take care of herself rather than caring for others.

He tells her that the situation completely changes within mere hours of them entering the island, and she can’t trust anyone. The criminals are ready to go to any length to reach their goal.

Some are successful, and some are not, but the situation worsens with every passing moment, and the numbers are significantly decreasing. After hearing all this, Gabimaru attacks Sagiri, but she blocks it just at the right time.

Gabimaru continues his attack. He has to leave before Iwagakure intrudes on the island. He doesn’t hate Sagiri, but she is a hindrance. However, none of the two can gather the courage to kill the other.

Gabimaru thinks it is a weakness he grew because of emotions when he started living with his wife. He has grown weaker and is now hesitant to kill someone who is in between his freedom.

He tells her he doesn’t want to kill her, so she should obey. Sagiri mocks him for showing emotions, and, in return, Gabimaru overpowers her and puts her on his sword edge.

He tells her he has no emotions, but still remembering his wife stops him from killing her. He cries that weakness will never get him to see his wife again. Sagiri tells him that from what she saw, she thinks that he is not his old self anymore.

Fuichi and Tamiya (asaemon and criminal, respectively) are amazed by the place’s beauty. A butterfly sits on Tamiya’s hand. On observing closely, he realizes something and immediately cuts his hand.

The hand starts turning into a plant. They get surrounded by creepy animals, and a giant, strange monster appears before them. Similarly, Gabimaru also gets surrounded by very weird monsters.
