Hell’s Paradise Gets a Second Season And a New Promotional Video

Jigokuraku was a spring 2023 anime that took fans by storm. It had a unique plot, and it kept us on the edge of our seats. While season 1 was great in every aspect, many of us were unsure about the anime getting a second season.

There was little to no discussion about season 2 on social media. Fortunately, fans were pleasantly surprised when there was an immediate announcement of season 2 immediately after the finale of season 1.

Here are all the details about season 2 of Jigokuraku you need to know.

The staff of Yūji Kaku’s Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku announced a second season for the anime. A promotional video was also released along with the announcement.

The promotional video recaps all the major events of season 1 and ends the shot on Yamada Asaemon Shugen. The last shot looms on what appears to be a cave that Gabimaru and Saigiri are looking at at night.

Kaori Makita is directing the anime, while Akira Kindaichi is the series composer. Koji Hisaki will be designing the characters, while Yoshiaki Dewa will be the music composer. 

In the finale of Season 1, Shion vs. Mu Dan comes to an end with Shion striking down his foe. It was also revealed that the “Elixir of Immortality” doesn’t exist. 

Now this raises questions as Gabimaru’s village chief was immortal. Yuzuriha comes up saying that the village chief and Gabimaru’s wife are an illusion.

On the other hand, Gabimaru has lost most of his memories due to his overuse of Tao. The season will probably pick up at this junction as the prisoners will probably make their decision to explore further.

This anime has one of the best world-building and is quite successful in creating unique characters. It is highly entertaining and something worth looking out for.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a manga series by Yuji Kaku that ran from January 2018 to January 2021. It was serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app and has been collected into 13 volumes.

Gabimaru: The Hollow is a ninja assassin who is on death row. He feels nothing and can’t be killed due to his training as a shinobi. Yet, when he faces Asaemon Sagiri, he realizes his will to live and return to his wife.

He is assigned the task to find the elixir of life on a legendary island. The island kills any person sent to it. Will Gabimaru find the elixir and escape alive?
