Helldivers 2 developer confirms the effect of abandoning mission on progression

Summary

  • Helldivers 2 developer AHGS_Misty on Reddit has cleared the controversy around what happens if a player quits mid-way.
  •  Earlier, Arrowhead developer Evil-Bosse on the Helldivers 2 Discord channel had said that quitting a mission midway affects progression.
  • However, AHGS_Misty on Reddit has clarified by saying that progression will not be affected by abandoning the mission midway.

Helldivers 2’s time at the summit continues with over 430,000 peak concurrent players on Steam. This surge of players has now been accommodated by the updated servers, which no longer have unnecessarily high queue times.

A Helldivers 2 developer from Arrowhead, u/AHGS_Misty on Reddit, has confirmed that abandoning operations will not progress the enemy’s percentage, nor will it hurt the planet’s progression.

This clarification comes after another developer going by u/Evil-Bosse had claimed that quitting an operation halfway through counts as a loss for Super Earth. They subsequently apologized for spreading misinformation after AHGS_Misty revealed information about progression.

However, this is personal news from a developer on a personal level on Reddit. Arrowhead is yet to announce or reveal official information on this front.

The highly active Helldivers 2 Discord server is also calling on the developers to release official information since it could be crucial to the grind of so many players.

This becomes even more important given that the liberation score system still confuses many players. But, going by what AHGS_Misty had to say, players have one less thing to worry about in their fight for Super Earth.

With more updates on the way, the CEO, Johan Pilestedt, has confirmed that if DLSS and FSR make their way to Helldivers 2, they will arrive together. The roadmap is promising, with players showing much love to the game.
