Vermilio desperately tries and plots more schemes to get rid of Helck once and for all, and her assistant comes up with an idea. The next stage is a horse race, and every contestant has a proper horse except Helck, who is riding a tiny cat-like being.

The countdown begins, and the race starts with everyone except Helck’s horse speeding to victory. He has no choice but to get off his steed, and everyone assumes he has lost already since it would be challenging to catch up now.

Helck calms his horse down and reassures him that they can still win. Contestants are swept off their traps one by one, especially Hyura, who has shown incredible combat skills throughout the competition. While they are distracted by the other contestants, Helck and his horse start zooming through the race and almost catch up.

Punching his way through the obstacle course and running alongside his horse, Helck outsmarts management at every turn. With his mighty legs and skills, he takes the top spot, holding his horse under his arm to the crowd’s applause and the fury of Vermilio.

The Winged Creatures continue to raid the castle, although their forces have been trimmed at the final stand of Lord Urum. While Vermilio ponders over the situation, Azudra offers his help. He suggests an idea where he can take care of both the invaders and Helck by declaring, retaking Castle Urum, as the final challenge.

Helck is a manga series written and illustrated by Nanaki Nanao. It was serialized online on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday Website and MangaONE app from May 2014 to December 2017. It has been collected into 12 volumes.

A short spin-off manga titled Piwi: Fushigi na Ikimono was also released in 2018, with its chapters collected in one volume. Another prequel manga series, titled Völundio: Divergent Sword Saga is currently ongoing since its launch in August 2020.
