Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi (Idaten Deities in the Peaceful Generation) is a Japanese seinen manga created by Amahara under Coolkyousinnjya illustration.
Coolkyousinnjya had announced on August 11, 2020, that the manga will be adapted into an anime series.
Studio MAPPA announced that the anime will premiere in July 2021 under FUJI TV noitaminA programming block. A key visual and first PV was also released along with this announcement.
The visual gives the first look for the character design of the deities and demons; they are shown in a colorful light.
The PV features some scenes from the upcoming anime in a mysterious, supernatural setting with spine chilling background music.
MAPPA is a well-known studio for producing titles such as Yuri!!! on Ice, Banana Fish, Jujutsu Kaisen, and The God of High School and now it is back to produce the Idaten-tachi series.
The Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi manga tells the story of Gods who are sent to help humans and the race of humanity is on the verge of utter destruction due to demons.
These gods or deities, also known as “Idatens”, were the ones to seal away demons for about 800 years. The demons again broke the seal to wreak havoc upon earth and the fight to save humanity carries on.
Amahara’s previous work “Interspecies Reviewers” is also getting an anime adaptation and illustration Coolkyoushinja’s Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is getting ready to come back with a season two for the anime series.
