Heavenly Delusion is yet another post-apocalyptic story where humans are protected from a hellish outside world by a walled city. The key difference between this and others is that robots raise children and youth within the walls in a nursery-like setting.
Think of it as Darling in the Franxx but with no adults or child soldiers, which is better.
The Heavenly Delusion manga recently received a TV anime adaptation, and its official website has revealed that it will debut in April on a Friday. Disney+ will exclusively stream the anime worldwide as it airs on various Japanese channels.
This announcement was bundled with two new visuals for the anime featuring all the main characters. The first visual features Kiruko and Maru, two kids living in the outside world and searching for heaven.
Meanwhile, the second visual focuses on the children living inside the walls, including Mimihime and Tokio, who look just like Kiruko and Maru.

In addition to this information, the website has also revealed the main cast members for the anime, and they are as follows:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Maru | Gen Sato | Chrome (Dr. Stone) |
Kiroku | Sayaka Senbongi | Shuna (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) |
Tokio | Hibiku Yamamura | Itsuki Mitsutagawa (Shadowverse Flame) |
Kona | Toshiyuki Toyonaga | Junichirō Tanizaki (Bungo Stray Dogs) |
Mimihime | Misato Fukuen | Saki Mikajima (Durarara!!) |
Shiro | Shunsuke Takeuchi | Makoto Suzuki (Tokyo Revengers) |
Kuku | Tomoyo Kurosawa | Göll (Record of Ragnarok) |
Anzu | Misato Matsuoka | Jerietta (I’m Quitting Heroing) |
Taka | Yūki Shin | Takemichi Hanagaki (Tokyo Revengers) |
As if the story wasn’t interesting enough, it also includes the element of doppelgangers. I wonder if all kids inside the wall have a lookalike in the outside world, or maybe Maru and Kiruko are related to Tokio and Mimihime.
Whatever the case is, it’s apparent that I can’t wait to see how everything unravels.
About Heavenly Delusion
Heavenly Delusion is a manga series by Masakazu Ishiguro. It was launched in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine in January 2018. Studio Production I.G. has confirmed its anime adaptation.
The series shows a school where kids are raised by robots and are walled in from what they think is “hell.” The outside world has gone though a calamity and has super-natural beings.
On the other hand, two teenagers can also be seen wandering around in this wasteland trying to find “heaven” on Earth.
