HBO Max has cleared The Flight Attendant for a second flight! The comedic thriller finished airing the first season’s finale on December 17th and was quickly renewed for season two. Ever since its debut in November, the show has gradually earned praise from both the critics and the public. Although it started as a miniseries, with the very eventful season finale, a second season was quite inevitable.
Based on the novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, The Flight Attendant revolves around Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco), a flight attendant by profession. On a layover to Bangkok, she wakes up in a hotel room with a hangover and a dead man in her bed.
Unable to remember what happened the night before, she does not go to the police. In New York, a few FBI agents approach her to ask her some questions about what happened in Bangkok. Their questions make Cassie wonder whether she is the killer.
In season two, Cassie will be on a different adventure. Since Bohjalian did not write a sequel to The Flight Attendant, the show is on its own in the second season. However, the first season finale left many doors open for a sequel story. Cassie decided to give up alcohol after her life was turned upside down. Later, she was offered a position as an informant of the CIA. Season two might explore Cassie’s days as a spy if she takes up the offer.
The Flight Attendant also stars Michiel Huisman, Rosie Perez, Zosia Mamet, Michelle Gomez, T.R. Knight, Colin Woodell, Merle Dandridge, Griffin Matthews and Nolan Gerard Funk.
The first season of the show is available to stream on HBO Max.
