Yelena and Clint have yet to make up. As Florence Pugh talks about her time in Hawkeye, we catch a glimpse of her Black Widow once again fighting Clint in Ep 6.
Right from the end-credits scene in Black Widow, Yelena was destined to be in Hawkeye. We all knew that Yelena would have a bone to pick with Clint. After all, she doesn’t really know how things went down in Vormir.
In the latest Hawkeye featurette, Pugh expresses surprise at Yelena having a physical fight with Clint. But it seems like the sparring is far from over, as the video also teases another Clint-Yelena violent encounter.

It is understandable why Yelena harbors animosity towards Clint, but what I’m really curious to find out is how Val recruiting her is connected to Eleanor Bishop and why exactly they’re targeting Clint. This is just one of the many questions that Hawkeye’s finale will answer.
(Before piling on a new set of questions, Marvel-style!)
I can only hope Yelena and Clint find a moment to hash it out and team up to fight the real bad guys. I’m looking at you, Eleanor and Kingpin.
It has been amazing to have Pugh’s Yelena on-screen for more time than anticipated. Pugh says that her first two years with Marvel has been amazing, and seeing her in her new Hawkeye character poster, I have to agree:
Plus, her chemistry with Kate Bishop is unparalleled.
In the clip, Hawkeye’s directors Bert and Bertie also expressed how they just went with the flow of having “Natasha’s sister” and “Clint Barton’s protege” create their own bond that is independent of their mentors.
Sadly, Hawkeye has suffered viewership-wise, trailing 40% behind Marvel’s most-watched Disney+ show, Loki. As a massive fan of Hawkeye (my top Marvel Disney+ series so far), I can only hope that the season finale will remedy the situation.

Hawkeye is an upcoming television miniseries for the Disney+ streaming service. Created by Jonathan Igla, it is based on the Marvel comic character of the same name. The show will feature Clint Barton aka. Hawkeye and newcomer Kate Bishop who will eventually become the next Hawkeye.
Cast members include Jeremy Renner who will be reprising his role as Barton, and Hailee Steinfeld will be playing Kate Bishop. Additional cast includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, and Florence Pugh, who too will reprise her role from the unreleased “Black Widow”. Hawkeye is scheduled to be released in November 2021.
