After Akane makes them consider a truce, they’re seen by Number Six, who doesn’t look too happy to see them. Will Number Six pose a significant threat to their mission? We’ll find out in the next chapter.
1. Chapter 88 Discussions and Predictions
The entry of Number Six changes a lot for Teru and his team. They already let Nene and Hanako escape, and now they might have a bigger problem at hand. The rivalry between Teru and Kou also grew as the older brother exclaimed how Kou was weak.
This could mean that Kou would consider becoming a supernatural. Tsukasa had told Kou that he could turn into one if he desired to become powerful.
His becoming a supernatural could push Teru to stop his sadistic tendencies towards the beings since his own brother would become one of the beings he despises the most.

5. Chapter 87 Recap
Kou stands up against Teru, letting Nene escape with Hanako. Teru simply dodges his attacks but doesn’t get a chance to stop the two from running away.
He looks at his younger brother with a disappointed expression, telling him that this wasn’t what he meant when he told him to follow Nene.
Kou replies that he’s not on Hanako’s side but on Nene’s. Surprised by this, Teru tells him to stop acting like a hero. He says that he didn’t think that Kou would be advantageous, but it was unbelievable that he interfered. He should have just stayed at home cooking dinner for them.
Kou defends himself, saying that he wasn’t playing the hero. He expresses how weird Teru becomes when it comes to the supernaturals. Teru cuts him, stating that as an exorcist, he can’t be normal. He further complains about how Kou doesn’t understand his plight.
Kou breaks down and yells at his older brother, accusing him of distancing him away from the supernatural. He stopped him by saying that it was dangerous and making him do all the chores. It’s not that he hated the work, but it was miserable to be alone.
Teru snatches away Kou’s sword and corners him. He blankly tells him that the reason he protected him was that he’s too weak.
Just then, Akane and Aoi return and interrupt their fight. Akane is surprised to see them quarrel in the middle of a mission and scolds Teru for going overboard.
He makes sure that Kou is alright and tells them to resume their fight once they’re home. For now, they must discuss how they’ll move forward.
Suddenly, a strange aura engulfs Kou, but Teru pushes him out. As the chapter ends, we see that the aura belongs to Number Six, and he recognizes Kou and the team.
