4. Recap of Chapter 79
Chapter 79, titled “The Red House (Part 4),” starts off with Teru meeting up with the Head Priest of the shrine, Nagisa Kunishige.
Aoi is very confused about Nagisa’s role. Teru then explains to him how Shrines and Exorcists are deeply interconnected. However, he explains it in a mocking way which triggers Nagisa.
Nagisa then proceeds to say that exorcists would be nothing if the Shrine cut them off. Teru is unfazed by that statement and counters him, saying that if Exorcists didn’t do their job, the world would cease to exist.
After the harmless jabs at each other, Nagisa asks Teru what brings him here. As Teru goes to reply, he receives a call.
Aoi checks the phone to see that Kou is calling him. However, when he picks up the phone, someone other than Kou is talking and is asking if Akane wants to make his wish come true.
Teru cuts the call. However, the Head Priest is taken aback by it. He mentions the curse of the Red House and how Tsukasa’s mom brought him to the priest to exorcise him.
Teru then informs Nagisa that Kou is inside the house right now. Nagisa reacts very badly to this and is afraid that a series of deaths is on its way. So he locks them in the room and goes to inform the head of the Minomoto Family.
Teru reaches his breaking point. He readily gives up on everything and starts whining about how nothing works his way, which is unlike him.
The chapter ends with Aoi motivating Teru by stating that he will rescue Akane by himself whether Teru helps him or not. Teru then breaks down the door and steals the family heirloom for which they came to the shrine.
