We all agree that Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle multiplayer mode is a thing of beauty. This 12-person-per-side mode lets players immerse themselves in a riveting world that’s brimming with plasma explosions, scintillating gunplay, and vehicular havoc. In theory, this is precisely the mode you’d want to dive into with your pals.
But unfortunately, things did not go as smoothly as one would’ve desired, and the ever-vicious matchmaking issues are to be blamed. This plague mangled the multiplayer experience of a plethora of players as many got dropped matches while others dealt with mismatched team sizes.
On top of this, gamers also had to face instances of cheating where scumbags got the better of them through unfair means. Clearly, things are in a downward spiral. But thankfully for us, it looks like the devs are well aware of these problems and are working to inject life back into Halo infinite.
According to the latest blog post by 343 Industries, a hotfix for Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle matchmaking issue is in the works and could roll out very soon. On the other hand, a patch to address nuisances caused by cheating is also in development and is expected to be out by mid-February.
We know there are a number of other topics you’re eager to hear about – including some issues with instances of cheating. The team has been working on a patch for mid-Feb that looks to address this and other things, and we’ll have more details to come as we get closer to release. We are actively trying and still working to get as much as we can into this Feb update while still ensuring no negative impacts or regressions to other parts of the game.

The blog post further states that 343 Industries assembled a “strike force” to look into the BTB issues during this holiday break. Thankfully, this team was able to pinpoint a fix for the glitch and entered a testing phase as well last week.
All that remains now for the hotfix is to go through certification. If approved, the devs promised to release it as soon as possible.
It’s a little too soon to give an ETA yet, but please know our goal is to release this as soon as we can while ensuring it doesn’t have any other unintended impact to the retail product.
