Halloween 2024 Event: How to get Morpeko in Pokemon GO? How to switch forms?

The Halloween event is now underway in Pokémon Go, bringing an exciting array of ghost, dark, bug, and psychic-type Pokémon to the wild. True to tradition, the game doesn’t disappoint as it introduces new Pokémon each year. This time, we’re thrilled to see the debut of Morpeko.

Morpeko is an adorable, chubby rodent Pokémon known for its unique Hunger Switch Ability, which allows it to change forms and alter its appearance. This dark/electric-type Pokémon is considered a rare find because it can only be obtained from limited sources.

1. How to get Morpeko in Pokemon Go?

Players can get Morpeko from any of the following-

  • Halloween 2024: Spiritomb Challenge quest – Catch 108 Dark or Ghost-Type Pokémon
  • Halloween 2024 Field Research Task – Win 2 Raids
  • Go Battle League Rank 16 rewards
  • Pay-to-play Timed Research: Morpeko Onesie

Morpeko is unavailable in the wild or through raids, so you must obtain it from either of the above tasks. This Pokémon is only available during Halloween, so it’s a good idea to gather as many as you can while the opportunity lasts.

Collecting one or two Morpeko should be easy for most players, but it may take longer if you aim for one with specific stats.

If you plan to get Morpeko through Field Research tasks, we recommend stacking tasks as much as possible. Try to complete two raids and finish all tasks in one go to maximize your Morpeko encounters.

2. Can you obtain Morpeko after Halloween?

Players can obtain Morpeko only from the GO Battle League rewards after the Halloween event ends.

To get a Pokemon encounter from the GO Battle League, you need at atleast three wins out of five. It is also worth noting that there will be other Pokemon encounters with Morpeko, so getting it is not guaranteed.

3. Can you get shiny Morpeko?

Shiny Morpeko will not be released in the Halloween 2024 event, which means players cannot encounter it as of now. However, it might be released in future events.

4. How to switch Morpeko’s form?

Morpeko can switch between two forms after using charged attack – Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode. It can alter between the two forms until it faints or is defeated.

The change in form affects its charge attack, Aura Wheel. In Full Belly Mode, Aura Wheel becomes an Electric-type attack. In Hangry Mode, it changes to a Dark-type attack.

This means that when it uses an Electric-type Aura Wheel, it is strong against Flying and Water-type Pokémon. It becomes strong against Ghost and Psychic-type Pokémon when it uses a Dark-type Aura Wheel.

Right now, this can only happen in fights against Team GO Rockets and GO Battle League, not raids.
