GTA V voice actor lauds Rockstar’s choice to have Lucia as the female protagonist

IGN’s GTFM is the source of many rumors and insider information. Recently, the famous voice actor of Michael De Santa from GTA V had something to say about the protagonist in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.

Ned Luke, who voiced Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V, said in a chat with IGN reporter Akeem Lawanson that he feels Lucia is “hard” and looked good in the trailer. He called the people “clowns” who thought Rockstar had gone “woke” for having a female protagonist.

Ned supported Rockstar’s decision to portray a female protagonist. He drew precedents from previous Grand Theft Auto titles, showing that this was not the first time GTA would feature a female protagonist.

Previously, GTA has had a female custom character in GTA Online. GTA II and the Gameboy Color Version of GTA II also featured playable female protagonists.

He refuted claims that Rockstar was catering to the tastes of the woke people. Ned called such people clowns for even suggesting this.

There have been other female protagonists, but “not in something as huge as this.” This shows that Rockstar has not included Lucia simply because they are “caving into the wokeness of the world.”

Lucia’s character was introduced in the reveal trailer, with the opening scene showing her in prison. Later scenes showed her performing a heist or a robbery with someone who appears to be her partner, possibly the other protagonist that GTA VI will feature.

The expected release window of GTA VI is in 2025, and it is currently being developed. The gameplay will be set in a fictitious version of Florida called Leonida. It can be expected that as the release date draws closer, Rockstar will release more information about their upcoming release.
