Eight years in, GTA V is still every gamer’s top favorite game to play. Much of this constant love goes to the Rockstar Games invented GTA V Online, releasing exciting content to keep the players happy. One of the recent content released this Summer is the Los Santos Tuners DLC. You guessed it! This new update revolves around the one thing GTA is known most for: Cars! Cars! And even more Cars!
Rockstar Games usually releases two DLCs for the GTA V Online community every year around July and December. So, the new Tuners DLC is a promising thing to look forward to if you’re a car enthusiast. But before you jump the gun and hop on the Tuners mission, here’s all you need to know about it.
How to Get the GTA V Tuners Update?
To get the Tuners update, players have to update their GTA V game, or if it is in auto-download, it’ll do it on its own. However, the new DLC is completely free, so you don’t have to worry about spending a hefty sum just for the sake of new cars.
After the Tuners DLC download is complete, you’ll see a text pop up on your phone once you launch the game, which will guide you to the LS Car Meetup Area to start this exciting new storyline.
What to Look Forward to?
GTA V’s new Tuner update has tons of new things to look forward to. From new cars, heists, and new business opportunities, here’s everything you can do in the new update:
1. New LS Car Meet Area
The LS Car Meet area located in Popular Street near Cypress Flats will initialize the Tuner storyline in GTA V Online. The players will be asked to buy a membership for $50,000, which will give them access to an underground racing track and a rep system to unlock high-end cars. If you manage to get your Rep to Level 20, you’ll be able to take over the area and host your meetings.
2. Underground Racing Track and New Racing Series
The LS Meetup membership will also give players access to a top-secret underground racing track, a.k.a Test Track. This, in turn, will provide players with opportunities to participate in two new racing series, i.e., Street Race Series and Pursuit Series.
3. Reputation System
The Tuners update has included a new Reputation-based system where players attending the LS Car Meetups, Racing, and winning can increase their reputation points to unlock new and exclusive cars.
Once players reach Level 20 in Reputation, they will take over the LS Car Meetup area and host their meetups.
Just a tip– Even attending the Meetup and interacting increases your Rep a bit. So, try to attend them to gain Rep points faster.
4. New Tuners Exclusive Tattoos and Clothes
The update has also brought in some new and exclusive tattoos and clothes to jazz up your style. Just go to any clothing store to access these new clothes and barbershops for the tattoos.
5. Purchasable Tuner Shops
Once you’ve purchased the LS Car Meetup membership, you’ll be able to see a list of purchasable Tuner shops available throughout the city of Los Santos. The available shops’ areas are:
- Mission Row – $1,670,000
- Strawberry – $1,705,000
- Rancho – $1,750,000
- Burton – $1,830,000
- La Mesa – $1,920,000
Once you purchase a tuner shop and furnish it however you want, you’ll be able to customize cars for customers and also trade high-end cars. This will also trigger a new set of heists and unlockable missions for you to play in the DLC.
I’d suggest you go for La Mesa or Burton and stay clear of Mission Row since it’s pretty close to the Mission Row Police Department.
6. New Heists
The purchase of an auto/tuner shop will unlock a set of heists for players to indulge in. Players will be approached by Sessanta and given the task of stealing a car to unlock the missions.
Each mission will have money as a reward for successful completion. The missions are:
- The ECU Job
- The Data Contract
- The Prison Contract
- The Agency Deal
- The Bank Contract
- The Superdollar Deal
You might be able to get a fair amount of your Tuner Shop money back from these missions and gain a bit more as a first-timer bonus, giving you a head start towards purchasing a new car.
7. All New Cars in GTA V Tuners Update
The Tuners update has brought in a total of 17 cars in this new DLC. While ten cars have already been released, the other seven will be released each week on Thursdays.
The 10 Released cars are:
- Dinka Jester RR ($1,970,000, Legendary Motorsport)
- Annis ZR350 ($1,615,000, Legendary Motorsport)
- Annis Euros ($1,800,000, Legendary Motorsport)
- Obey Tailgater S ($1,495,000, Legendary Motorsport)
- Vapid Dominator GTT ($1,220,000, Southern San Andreas Super Autos)
- Karin Futo GTX ($1,590,000, SSA)
- Annis Remus ($1,370,000, SSA)
- Karin Calico GTF ($1,995,000, SSA)
- Vulkar Warrener HKR ($$1,260,000, SSA)
- Dinka RT3000 ($1,715,000, SSA)
While these new and shiny cars can be bought from the car dealerships, you need to increase your Rep and unlock each one. You can also trade these cars and sell them at a fair price through your shop as well.
Are the Tuners DLC Items Affordable in the Game?
While buying the membership, tuner shop, and its customization might leave a bit of dent in your in-game bank account, these purchases are pretty affordable if you’ve spent enough time doing heists in GTA V.
A total of Membership + tuner shop(La Mesa)+ Upgrades would cost you around $5,000,000, which you might be able to get back by doing the Tuners Heists alone. Then there are the tuner shop sales and any other secondary sales you’d get from selling cars.
So, you might as well invest in this new shop and get creative. But, if you still don’t have enough, a few heists here and there might do the trick.
This new DLC still cannot hide the fact that Rockstar Games is still honing on an 8 year old game and trying to keep its longtime players from moving on. Even though I do appreciate these new contents but let’s be honest, I’d much rather prefer a possible GTA VI announcement. If Rockstar truly wants to keep the same GTA magic alive, I think now’s the time to pick up the pace.
