1. GTA V December DLC Announced: Cayo Perico Heist
The new DLC to Grand Theft Auto V, called Cayo Perico Heist, will be released on December 15, 2020, and will add new map locations, a new heist, and vehicles.
Rockstar, since the Los Santos Summer Update, has teased a feature-packed DLC update that will add new heist elements to the game for this winter; 2020 is not so bad after all! Yesterday Rockstar finally released the details about the DLC, and oh boy, are the new additions worth the wait.
2. What is The New Cayo Perico GTA Online DLC?
The new DLC will be adding an all-new heist where players breach an island belonging to Los Santos’ biggest drug kingpin. The island compound will be a new extension to the map.
The trailer introduces a new map location, which includes a new radio station tower, heavy military presence (possibly the drug kingpin’s militia), and a submarine.
One of the GTA’s heists already featured a submarine. The Bogdan problem had a gunfight aboard a submarine, but that submarine was, in fact, not drivable.
According to the official newswire, players will be able to interact with the new submarine, which promises to offer many more surprises.
The Cayo Perico Grand Theft Auto Online DLC which releases on December 15 will add a new map location and a new heist that will introduce a submarine to the game with many additions such as the ability to solo the heists.
3. What’s More in The GTA V Winter DLC?
Rockstar released the details on the official blog post, and we are in for more treats than just a new heist and map extensions.
The new Cayo Perico DLC will also add the new vehicles, tactical included, a new radio station, social party spaces to the Diamon Casino, and DJs to the game.

We have always been frustrated when finding players to complete a heist with; the four-player limit on the heists (except the casino heist, of course) has always bugged me. Even the classic heists can be completed alone or with a partner. This time Rockstar has changed the stacks; the new heist can now be done in a group or even alone! This has excited me the most.

The radio stations and DJs available, even though remarkable, have been getting a little stale, so we will be getting a whole new radio station and additional DJs this winter. Not to mention, there will be new social spaces; these might be additions to the Diamond Casino for you to invite your friends too. Time to hustle for that penthouse!
4. When Will The New GTA V DLC Release?
The Cayo Perico GTA Online DLC will be releasing on December 15, 2020, worldwide with the new heist and map extension.
5. What Platforms Will Get The New GTA DLC?
Rockstart has promised support for current and next-gen platforms, so both of them will receive the new update this December.
All current-gen and next-gen platforms will get the new update without any extra cost. The current platforms include the PS4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The next-gen console like PS5, Xbox Series S/X will also be getting the DLC.
The depreciated consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360, will not be receiving the update as has been the norm since 2015.
6. Any DLC Updates For GTA V Single Player?
Rockstart has long abandoned single Player Story Mode in light of GTA Online, and it won’t be receiving any new content, not even the new vehicles from the Online DLC. This won’t be changing with the 2020 Winter DLC Update.
GTA V Single Player Story Mode will not receive any new content; all the new vehicles and locations will only be accessible in GTA Online.
7. Will the New Island Be Available Outside the Heist in GTA Online?
Rockstar’s newswire has not mentioned if the new map extension will be available in free roam or if it will be locked inside the heist only. Though, the odds of it being available while in GTAO lobbies are pretty high.
There is no official word if the new map location will be available for free-roam players or not, but knowing Rockstar, the new map extension might be accessible like the DIamond Casino Heist with restrictive heist locations.
