Great Master Challenge Walkthrough and Obtaining the Final Bot – Astro Bot

The Great Master Challenge in Astro Bot is a completionist stage that you can access after getting 300 bots across all stages. There is a secret bot that is available at the end.

Multiple types of obstacles repeat and must be dodged at high speeds, but as it is said- information is power; once you understand them, you can dodge them easily.

1. How to complete the Great Master Challenge in Astro Bot?

There are a few things to keep in mind before challenging the hardest level in Astro Bot-

1. Dodge the Bells: Use Astro’s lasers to glide past the bells and reach the jumping pads.
2. Break the Spiked Ball Hurlers: Boost yourself over the spiked balls to destroy spiked ball enemies.
3. Bait the Birds: Bait the bird into attacking by rapidly feinting and destroying its cord.
4. Break the Explosives: Hold the square button and release it exactly when you land on the platform to destroy all enemies.
5. Defeat the Slasher: A formidable enemy slashes at you with a weapon; time it right and jump over.
6. Note the Controller shapes: There is a set pattern with the controller buttons; note when double jumps and slides are required.

2. About the Great Master Challenge

The Great Master Challenge is the ultimate and completionist level in Astro Bot. It requires precision and patience (you may have to try several times).

To unlock it, you must collect all 120 Puzzle Pieces and 300 Bots to build a wall at the Gold Tower in the Crash Site hub area (which you will climb to ascend to the final level).

3. Dodging the Initial Bells and Foes

As the level starts, use your lasers and didge the bells. Time it properly or you will have e to restart. The bells shoot out rings.

You can dodge a spike-swinging enemy (glide over quickly), or you can wait, and when his spiked ball is in the other direction, make a run for it.

Then comes the bird level; you can use a feint and go close to it, and it will slam into the platform; you will see a wire that you can fly over and destroy with the lasers.

4. Handling Explosive Enemies and Moving Platforms

The level gets much faster, and there are many platforms that you have to jump onto accurately. Small enemies and jellies are all over, but as long as Astro doesn’t touch them and just flies over, it’ll be very safe.

The trick is holding and releasing the square button on the controller just as you land on the glass platforms. This will clear the enemies out.

The glass platforms are prone to breaking very quickly, and you have no second chances and can only move forward.

There is an icy floor where there are mines spread, beware and dodge them quickly (very few of them).

5. Controller Button Shapes and Obstacles

You have reached the final stretch at this point. The controller level will have you use your reaction as well as memory.

Before that, a few red attacks are launched at Astro; you can dodge and jump on their platform and laser them to death quickly.

The other method is to glide and dodge at the precise moment to save time and energy. You’ll encounter two metal squares moving before you.

Dodge the tumbling blocks of metal; they will crush Astro if you do not move quickly.

When you encounter the controller shapes- X means you must jump and stay around the corners as you fly. Triangle and Square need you to double jump and reach the center to stay on the platform. The final circle needs you to land in the middle of it.

After this is done and you dodge the annoying birds on the controller platforms (no easy way to it), you reach the ending, and you can see an excited bot, waiting to join the collection!

6. Great Master Reward: Special Master Bot

When you finish the Great Master Challenge, you obtain a Special Bot- Bot 301 if you don’t count the 4 other special Bots (Bot 305 if you do).

This is the final collectible Bot in the game, and you are a legend for completing the hardest level. Congratulations!
