Grand Theft Auto V is set to be removed from Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series X|S on January 5th. This comes only six months after GTA V was returned to the Xbox Game Pass. Other removed titles include Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, Garden Story, and MotoGP 22.

Of all these titles, GTA V is the only one that is being removed exclusively from the consoles. All other titles are released from the Xbox Game Pass for PC and consoles.
The games will be available as a part of the Xbox Game Pass until January 5th or 15th, following which they will be available at 20% off for a limited period.
GTA V has had a mixed relationship with the Xbox Game Pass since its launch over a decade ago. It has been included and removed from the subscription service several times.

It was last included in the offered titles in July 2023. This was just before the Xbox Game Pass price was increased.
Initially, Microsoft was expected to strike the final nail in GTA V’s Xbox Games coffin on December 31st. However, they have extended it by five days, to January 5th, unlike the other titles, which are being removed ten days later on January 15th.
There are also other new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass to ensure that players don’t feel the void left by a title of the stature of GTA V. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2 is coming in January along with other titles to ensure that the Xbox Game Pass continues to boast a strong portfolio of titles.
