Netflix released a trailer to announce an anime adaptation of Uru Okabe’s Good Night World manga and revealed its October 12 premiere. The anime’s staff also told its key visual, primary staff, cast, and theme songs.
The trailer shows a powerful pseudo-family team in an online game called Planet. They go by “The Akabane Family.” They have one rule, not to investigate each other’s real-life backgrounds.
These gamers who formed a pseudo-family in the game are a real family but aren’t aware of it due to the rule.
This broken family includes a shut-in older brother, overachieving younger brother, a father who his children don’t respect, and a mother who neglects her family.
The trailer does well to highlight the stark contrast between the game world, which is energetic, with the real life of these gamers, which is dull. It uses grey tones to depict the real world but uses bright, colorful frames in the online world.
