2. Episode 30 Speculations and Predictions

It is time for round two of the Russo-Japanese War and it is the battle of patience for snipers of both sides. Ogata has set an ambush and is waiting for Russian to do it.

It’s getting dark, and the Russian sniper seems wary of the bait that Ogata has set and may not fall for it. Ogata will have to come up with another strategy to sense the position of the Russian sniper.

Once the sun falls, it would be difficult for both sides to attack and Kiroranke may make a run for it. A Russian soldier is not presented with many options and just has to wait, as all his comrades are gravely injured, and he can’t do much alone.

3. Episode 29 Recap

Asirpa and others have reached Shizuka and Kiroranke has devised a plan to cross the border to Russia. They are going to smuggle themselves in.

The border region is mostly inhabited, but if they are found by a Japanese or Russian patrol, they’ll have trouble. The nomadic tribes of Karafuto, however, are tacitly allowed to travel past the border. So, they disguised themselves as Uilta and crossed the border.

But of course, it is not going to be that simple. Apparently, Kirioranke was involved in the assassination of the Russian Emperor back in 1881.

Lieutenant Tsurumi went ahead and spread rumors that a revolutionary responsible for the emperor’s death will be making his way from Southern Karafuto into Russia, very soon.

This made the intrusion planned by Kiroranke hard and they are now caught between a Russo-Japanese War at the border.

Golden Kamuy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda, and 22 volumes have been released. The manga has been adapted into two anime seasons with a third on the run.

The story follows Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the early twentieth century Russo-Japanese War, and his quest to find a huge fortune of gold left by the Ainu people, helped by a young Ainu girl named Asirpa.
