Fortnite is known for its exciting collaborations, and its latest addition features Godzilla as a playable boss. As Godzilla, you can stomp across the map and use powerful abilities to destroy cities and defeat other players.
To become Godzilla, you will need some patience and a bit of luck, as only one person can become Godzilla in a match.
1. How to become Godzilla in Fortnite?
Players can turn into Godzilla by jumping into the Godzilla Portal at the start of the match. Only the first player to jump into the portal can become the mighty Godzilla.
You can find the Godzilla portal near the start of a match. It spawns randomly and has a 40% spawn rate, so it may not appear every time. You’ll know that the Godzilla Portal is open when a security alert at the bottom of your screen says, “Godzilla Portal is open.” This alert will also show the location of the portal.
When you see this alert, open your map to find the Godzilla icon and go there quickly. Only the first player to enter the portal will become Godzilla. If you can, use a vehicle to get there faster.
If someone arrives first, you will see Godzilla coming out of the portal and destroying everything around. You can join other players to defeat Godzilla or hide, hoping it doesn’t find you.
2. Godzilla Abilities in Fortnite
If you become Godzilla, other players will team up against you. You will have several useful abilities which will be helpful in your fight:
- Roar: Use your roar to show nearby players.
- Mighty Stomp: Stomp the ground to throw your enemies.
- Heat Ray: Shoot a powerful laser that can destroy players and buildings.

It is available in three distinct game mode versions that otherwise share the same general gameplay and game engine: Fortnite Battle Royale, a free-to-play battle royale game in which up to 100 players fight to be the last person standing;
