God of War Ragnarok will Feature Odin’s Ravens as Collectibles

There is a rumored upcoming PlayStation Showcase scheduled for September 8th, and we can definitely expect to see God of War Ragnarok up there. The sequel was also featured on the August issue of Game Informer Magazine. New combat details were revealed along with a couple screen grabs.

Fans have spotted a returning feature in the newly released screenshots of God of War Ragnarok.

Odin’s ravens make a comeback as collectibles. There were 51 in total in the first game, and it seems there will be even more in the next game. Odin is believed to play a significant role in Ragnarok, so it makes sense to have his legendary ravens back in the game.

Fans have reacted positively to this surprising detail, but it seems like a natural extension from the 2018 prequel. Studios often reuse assets to save development time and resources, and for small details like this, the final consequence in the game might not be major.

Ragnarok fans have been awaiting gameplay details, and given how close we are to the final launch, Sony and Santa Monica have been careful not to disclose any more information than necessary. The basic storyline is that Kratos and Atreus plan to stop Ragnarok, and Tyr is somehow tied to the narrative, but that’s about it.

God of War Ragnarok releases on November 9 for PS4 and PS5.
