Quaking Hollow Walkthrough – Full Favour Guide – God of War Ragnarok

Quaking Hollow is one of the three favours in the Sinkhole area of the Vanaheim Crater in God of War Ragnarok. Also, it’s one of the 47 side quests in the latest installment of the legendary God of War series.

God of War Ragnarok Quaking Hollow favour begins once you inch closer to The Sinkholes, and its objective is to look for the source of the tremors you’ll experience when you enter the penultimate quarter of The Crater. Moreover, you must also defeat the Crag Jaw to conclude the favour.

However, the path leading to the source of the tremors can be quite confusing since players have to open numerous hard-to-reach gates in The Sinkholes.

Here’s a detailed walkthrough of the God of War Ragnarok Quaking Hollow favour to help you check another side quest off the list!

How to begin the Quaking Hollow favour in God of War Ragnarok?

Quaking Hollow Favour Starting Location

To begin the Quaking Hollow favour in God of War Ragnarok, you need to approach the third area of the Vanaheim Crater called The Sinkholes. Although you may do this immediately after the conclusion of the Scent of Survival favour, it’s better to complete For Vanaheim and Return of the River as well.

Finishing the latter favours will render the navigation much simpler, and you’ll also be able to get your hands on all Sinkholes Collectibles.

Below are the steps you must follow to begin the Quaking Hollow favour in God of War Ragnarok.

I. Find a Building with a Hole in it

Once you are ready to begin, head to the Eastern Plains Mystic Gateway. From there, move southeast on the map and keep moving until you come across an atypical building with a hole in the middle.

While you descend into the hole, retrieve the treasure buried in the tunnel (that is if you’ve already gotten your hands on the “A Scar Is Born” treasure map).

II. Approach the Grate in the Tunnel

Next, navigate to the zipline and descend your way into The Sinkholes. Subsequently, look for a Nornir Chest in a tunnel present below the zipline. It’s one of the 35 Nornir Chests in God of War Ragnarok, so it’s pretty essential to get your hands on it.

After obtaining the Nornir Chest, move towards the grate in the tunnel. You’ll soon experience the above-mentioned tremors, thus beginning the Quaking Hollow side quest.

Where is the source of tremors located in the Quaking Hollow favour in God of War Ragnarok?

Follow the given steps to locate the source of tremors in the Quaking Hollow favour in God of War Ragnarok.

I. Enter the Tunnel Behind the Mystic Gateway (First Area)

Once the favour begins, move down the tunnel located south of the zipline and proceed to jump over the water by tossing your Leviathan Axe at the poisonous plant on the other side.

Continue navigating down the tunnel until you come across a new clearing with a Boat Dock and a Mystic Gateway in sight. Then, cross the river in front of you and enter the tunnel next to the Mystic Gateway, which is the first area.

II. Deal with the Dragon on the Pillars Containing Airstreams (Second Area)

Dragon in the Second Area that You Must Remove

You’ll witness a rock blocking your path when entering and moving significantly further in the tunnel. You need to aim your spear at the airstream coming out of the rock and destroy it by tapping the triangle button on your PS4/PS5 controller.

Subsequently, you’ll enter an even larger area, aka the second area, where a dragon will be waiting for you. Interestingly, it’s sitting on the kind of rock that was blocking your path in the first place. Additionally, killing the dragon is part of The Burning Skies favour.

Once you enter the second area, stay alert and handle all the Vikens. Your next objective is to force the dragon to leave by blowing by the stone pillars it’s sitting on.

Firstly, blow the airstream containing rock on the right with your spear and follow the method mentioned above. Similarly, destroy the stone on the left, and the dragon will leave.

III. Defeat the Crag Jaw (Third Area)

Burning the Brambles with the Runic Arrows

After dealing with the dragon, head southwest on the map and utilize the chain beside the massive iron gate to open it. Then, hurl over the gap and enter the tunnel on the right.

Here you need to use the Runic Arrows and the Blades of Chaos to burn the brambles, followed by a well-timed throw of the Leviathan Axe at the poisonous totem behind the ruins. Next, take a right turn where Skarde will be waiting for you with a new favour. Talking to him will start the Casualty Of War: The Hourglass favour.

Subsequently, head down the tunnel until you come across a larger gap and burn more brambles you notice on the ceiling with the Runic Arrows.

After jumping out of the gap, move forward and drop into the first tunnel you come across. Once you squeeze through the tunnel (third area), you’ll face the Crag Jaw, one of the biggest dragons in The Sinkhole.

Defeat the Crag Jaw to complete the Quaking Hollow favour in God of War Ragnarok.
