Despite being scheduled for a 2022 release, details about Santa Monica’s highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok remain shockingly slim. Fans who want to brutally murder Norse creatures as Kratos and Atreus are understandably losing their hair over the action-adventure game’s launch.
Gamers were given some encouragement by the occasional word of The Snitch, who, through a cryptic tweet, stated that Sony could hold a State of Play to reveal Ragnarok’s release date on June 30. The credible Tom Henderson further backed this speculation but has now changed his stance by giving enthusiasts a new update.
Taking to Twitter, Henderson claimed that any intended announcement for God of War Ragnarok had been delayed. However, the industry insider is of the opinion that information about the title could be unveiled by the “end of the day” through unofficial sources.
Even if Henderson is as bang on as he usually is, this is still an odd way to tease a reveal, and there’s tremendous confusion over who he expects to unearth the information.
The gaming community is devastated for being kept in the dark for so long regarding the launch of Ragnarok and is naturally subjecting Santa Monica and Sony to a lot of brickbats.
In order to assuage the situation, producer Cory Barlow had to come out and calm the disgruntled today. He assured players that Ragnarok is still on schedule for a 2022 release and promised to share details “at the earliest possible moment they can be.”
Sony had only recently announced its new lineup of hardware for PC to expand its gaming empire. Therefore, it’s likely that God of War Ragnarok would receive some love from the Japanese giants only when every detail of the new Inzone products is out.
