God of War Ragnarok’s Release Date Might Be Revealed Next Week

While it has been confirmed and reiterated many times in the past that God of War Ragnarok will arrive in 2022, the lack of significant updates from Sony pointed to the contrary. 

Fans were able to catch a glimpse of the ventures of Kratos and his puberty-stricken teenage son, Atreus, across the vast Norse world through a trailer in September 2021. But soon after that, they were provided with nothing but excruciating silence. Even the most recent State of Play came and packed its bag without teasing Ragnarok, leaving gamers impatient. 

Thankfully though, things can change for the better this month as, according to a highly credible leaker, a release date announcement and gameplay reveal will arrive in a matter of days. 

Reputable industry insider, The Snitch, has teased that Sony will announce the launch date for God of War Ragnarok on June 30. The leaker shared a GIF on Twitter that shows numbers 1 1 1 1 0, which translate to 30 in binary, implying that’s the date to look forward to for updates on the action-adventure title. 

The Snitch has had a flawless track record of being accurate, and the fact that this leak lines up with other reports, like the one by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, does strongly indicate that an announcement for the sequel to 2018’s God of War can be made by the end of this month. 

If The Snitch is as bang on this time as he has been in the past, Sony is likely to put the spotlight on the highly-anticipated Norse title by hosting a dedicated State of play.  

Moreover, upon looking into the pattern Sony follows to showcase its State of Play, you’ll notice that the exclusive event is mainly held on Thursdays. Since June 30 is a Thursday as well, a vast swathe of enthusiasts is overwhelmingly positive for the silence around Ragnarok to be finally broken next week.
