So, stick around until the end as we unwrap the Ending of Goblin Slayer Season 2.
Goblin Slayer’s Season 2 ended with the Goblin Slayer and his crew successfully saving the kidnapped Princess with the intervention of the Sword Maiden.
The plan behind the Princess’s kidnapping was also revealed in the episode.
The episode started with a gruesome kick; the Goblin Priest, supposedly “killed” by the Goblin Slayer, was still alive. On the bright side, the Princess was still alive.
The Goblin Priest barely completed the ritual to bring back the Dark God by sacrificing himself.
The Greater Demon’s hand emerged, and it abruptly caused a snow Blizzard to wrap around the crew. The Goblin priest shielded the Priestess and the Princess, whereas the dwarf shaman created a snow cave for protection.
The crew rejuvenates their energy by having stamina potions and fire wine to keep them warm.
The Demon’s hand landed a punch, and the snowy wall disintegrated, strewing the crew members across the ground.
Then, to save the day, the Goblin Slayer comes up with a plan.
The Priestess acts as the decoy and lures the giant hand; right in the nick of time, the Goblin Slayer tosses petroleum, making the mighty hand slip cartoonishly.
The Goblin Slayer tried to tame the hand, but the Priestess successfully revived the elevator shaft.
Things seemed to be working out for them, but then the hand started to prepare another Blizzard. The Priestess and the Goblin Slayer couldn’t budge.
However, the Lizard priest mustered up his remaining strength and produced a sickle.
Then the Elf archer launched it right at the giant Demon’s hand, weakening it enough for the Goblin Slayer to sling it into the elevator shaft.
The Priestess added the cherry on top by casting a spell to trap it in the elevator shaft until the elevator crushed it; it’s like the epitome of work smart, not hard.
Well, it wasn’t time for any celebrations yet, as once they surfaced back on the ground, hundreds of goblins were waiting for them, so the crew engaged in battle again.
The Princess apologized for the trouble she had put them through, which drew a parallel to the Priestess’s own struggles eighteen months ago.
When it looked like the crew had met their end, the Goblin Slayer and the Priestess held hands, and then something totally unexpected happened.
The Sword Maiden zapped them out and announced to the crew that these goblins were like the NPCs who wanted to bring chaos back into their world.
The Sword Maiden’s army brought the goblins down and saved the crew; the Maiden seemed to be shivering.
The Priestess felt like she still had a long way to go to become stronger, as the Goblin Slayer had leaned onto the Sword Maiden for help.
The scene shifts and reveals that the Princess’s kidnapping was orchestrated by a Noble who had joined hands with some cult members to taint the King’s reputation and sabotage the Princess’s engagement by sacrificing her.
However, the Knight of Diamonds made a dramatic entrance to slay them off.
Then we are back to the inn where the Guild Girl is hanging out with the High Elf Archer, and the Priestess talks about how the Goblin Slayer denied the award for saving the Princess.
The Priestess shared that she wanted to become more mature and stronger to stand on equal footing with the Goblin Slayer.
Also, it turns out that the Princess has become a devout follower of the Earth mother.
Meanwhile, the Goblin Slayer trotted back home, thinking that nothing had changed; he was stuck in the monotonic routine of completing the quests like homework.
He reflected on life and its path; he knew it was his duty to continue moving forward, and that’s how he would grow as a person. He returned home to the farm girl and had a hearty meal.
