Rian Johnson has delivered two thrilling whodunits with equal twists and surprises on Netflix with his Knives Out film series. The 2019 and 2022 films garnered a huge following among the streaming platform’s viewers and the sequel even earned an unprecedented $13 million at the box office during its one-week release.
With such grand success comes the need to explain your genius, and I’m sure you’re just as curious as I am about how Rian Johnson came up with Benoit Blanc and his various mysteries. Well, the director is going to give his official commentary on how he created both the knives out film and the process behind Glass Onion.
Netflix just announced the documentary will come out tomorrow at 10:00 A.M. PDT with a new poster coupled with one of Blanc’s fan-favorite lines from the sequel – “I keep returning, in my mind, to the Glass Onion…” Us too, Mr. Blanc!
With Netflix’s recent change about password sharing and changes in account policy, many viewers have figured it is better to not renew their subscriptions. But Netflix’s originals like Knives Out, The Grey Man, and Red Notice can help the media company retain their subscribers and the documentary is just the right way to lure them back.
Even though Netflix claims that they will be investing less in these original IPs, it is in their best interest to keep the good work up with such films. The success that the Knives Out franchise has brought to the streaming platform is explanatory of how these projects can help recover the lost subscribers.
So, keep your eyes peeled and ears turned out for the genius behind the Glass Onion, and we don’t mean the fake kind like Miles Bron.
