Ghost in The Shell Composer’s Past Revealed! Resigns from Tokyo Olympics!

There are only a few people who go on to associate themselves with significant projects like the Tokyo Olympics or a cult classic anime like Ghost in the Shell. But only Keigo Oyamada can boast about being involved in both. But often with brilliance comes a touch of darkness.

Music Composer Keigo Oyamada a.k.a. Cornelius has resigned from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games. He was the composer for the opening ceremonies of both events.

He issued his apology through his Twitter account.

In his statement, he admitted to the allegations and apologized for the “heartless remarks” and pain he brought to his classmates and neighbors.

In his interviews from 1994 and 1995, Oyamada described horrible instances of bullying like wrapping a person in a mattress, locking up a disabled person inside a vaulting horse, having someone rolled up in a string, making them eat feces, and forcing them to masturbate!

After the allegations came forward on 15th July, the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Academy had no intentions of making Oyamada resign or dismiss him, before he stepped up and offered it himself!

There was already a lot of negativity associated with this year’s Olympics, given the people’s resistance amid the pandemic. As expected there aren’t going to be any foreigners, which sort of defeats the purpose for hosting it in the first place.

This news doesn’t help the cause either. With the Olympics now just days away, let’s just hope everything just goes as smoothly as possible.
