Genshin Impact to Feature Cloud Retainer in Human Form

Genshin Impact is a massive open-world game with several characters including the Wanderer, Hu Tao, Zhongli, and more. There are also many fun interactions with NPCs like Dvalin, Halfdan, Mountain Shaper, and Paimon. These are so well written that some NPCs are even more popular than a few playable characters.

According to a Genshin Impact leak, the famous NPC from Liyue region, Cloud Retainer, will be taking on a human form in a future update.

The above image was first spotted on a website called NGA. The original text when translated states that Cloud Retainer’s human form will be featured in a cutscene during the annual Lantern Rite event which is based on the Chinese New Year.

Cloud Retainer will be a tall female figure with glasses and cryo imagery. The famed NPC will be portrayed as a Tsundere with a tranquil and holy attitude. Tsundere is a Japanese term for soft-hearted characters who might seem harsh at first glance. Cloud Retainer’s character costume will be similar to Shenhe.

Sadly, Cloud Retainer will still be an NPC, even as a human. Apart from building the famous Dwelling in the Clouds, Cloud Retainer is an Adeptus and one of the oldest allies of Morax. Fans will be first introduced to the popular NPC in the first chapter of Archon quests.
