1. Genshin Impact Reveals New Upcoming Character Lanyan
Genshin Impact revealed the upcoming 4-star character Lanyan, who will be released during version 5.3, scheduled for January 1, 2025.
There is no official information if she will be featured in phase 1 or 2. There is also no official information about her kit, playstyle, or even gameplay. We can expect more details to be revealed later during the version 5.3 livestream.
2. Who is Lanyan?
She wields an Anemo vision and is from Chenyu Vale in Liuye. Lan Yan is a renowned master rattan weaver who specializes in creating, restoring, and repairing various objects, figures, and furniture made from rattan.
The people of Chenyu Vale recognize her expertise in this craft, and many residents turn to her for their creation and repair needs.
3. Brief Overview of Lanyan’s Kit (BETA)
Lanyan is a 4-star Anemo catalyst user who serves as a support shielder. Her Elemental Skill creates a shield that is based on her ATK. This shield can absorb elements that react with Anemo, which makes it stronger against those specific elements.
We still do not know her shield strength, but it will be interesting to compare her to current shielders like Zhongli, Baizhu, and Layla.
