Genshin Impact announces collaboration with Discovery to raise awareness

The Climate crisis is at an all-time high even though big corporations and countries are making pledges and signing agreements to help. However, grass-roots action is required. 

Developers, HoyoVerse have teamed up with Discovery to raise awareness about several fragile nature habitats as part of a Tevyat Nature Discovery Tour initiative. An online event called “Discover Traces, Explore Nature” and a short documentary will be released as a part of this collaboration.

The short documentary, voiced by Kit Harington, Lily Cole, Max Djenohan, Kate Humble, and Ed Stafford, is eight and a half minutes long. As a part of this, the video educates the viewer on the importance of preserving the world’s various biospheres.

The Discover Traces, Explore Nature web event is scheduled to start on March 16^th. It allows the Genshin players to earn extra primogems and an event exclusive Serenitea Pot furnishing, “Let the Desert Bloom.”

However, this reward is available only after completing some educational challenges. Genshin players will be excited to know that the event will feature five characters – Beidou, Kokomi, Albedi, Tighnari, and Candace.

The main task for the players is to find as many habitats as possible in the in-game world of Tevyat while being educated by drawing parallels between the in-game habitat and the natural world.

A climate event should not be restricted to the online world. As a result, Hoyoverse and Discovery are planning five offline benefit sales in Germany, France, Italy, Korea, and the UK between March 15^th and April 13^th, depending on the location.

All proceedings will be donated to Cool Earth – a British non-profit dedicated to rainforest conservation. Players will get a chance to purchase Genshin Impact merchandise at the said stalls.

Genshin Impact is no stranger to collaborations. However, this is their first time collaborating for the greater good, a move that should set a precedent in the gaming sphere.
