In Genshin Impact, the Seven Archons (also known as The Seven) are seven gods who govern the seven regions of Teyvat, the place where the main story of the game takes place. Each Archon is associated with an element of the environment.
An Archon’s strength is derived from the level of control they exert over their respective regions. Naturally, there would be a comparison between The Seven Archons based on their power levels in the Genshin Impact lore. Let’s take a look at the Archons ranked from the weakest to the strongest:
7BARBATOS
Also known as Lord Barbatos or The God of Freedom, he is the current Anemo Archon of The Seven who presides over Mondstadt. He also happens to be one of two original members of The Seven still alive at the beginning of the game.
Currently, Barbatos wanders the world taking the disguise of a mortal known as Venti, the bard. Barabatos has absolutely no control over Mondstadt, the land over which he presides, making him the weakest Archon out of The Seven Archons.
This makes sense since an Archon’s power is supposed to be derived from the level of control they have over the land they govern. Hence, Barbatos is the weakest Archon out of The Seven.
Although being the weakest, Barbatos has helped warm tundras, level mountains, and subjugated the Four Winds. It is due to his help that Decarabian, The God of Storms, was overthrown in the Archon War 2,000 years ago.
6SUMERU
Sumeru, also known as The God of Wisdom or the Flower Archon, is the next God in line for release in Genshin Impact. The unusual things about it is that the fans of the game know almost nothing about the character.
Though miHoyo, the company behind Genshin Impact, being a clever company, has put hints in the trailer about the character. Players know that Sumeru’s Dendro Archon is the youngest out of The Seven, having only 500 years of rule.
Genshin Impact fans have also been given a bit of information about the character at the end of the Inazuma arc. At the shirne maiden’s suggestion, it appears that Sumeru’s Archon will use a female form that goes by the name Lesser Lord Kusanali, who will be a beloved goddess adored by her people.
5FONTAINE
Also known as The God of Justice, she is the current Hydro Archon of The Seven who presides over Fontaine.
Not much is known about her except that she is not one of the original members of The Seven, who emerged after the end of the Archon War.
After The Seven became the rulers of Teyvat and the previous Hydro Archon passed away, The God of Justice took up their place. Some information has been revealed about her in the Travail trailer.
Based on the description in the trailer, Fontaine is set to be the skeptic among the gods. Judging them in her own country, it is likely that the events in Fontaine will paint the gods in a rather different color, the Archon telling of their downsides and crimes.
4MURATA
Murata, the current Pyro Archon, presides over the land of Natlan. Also known as the God of War and the Lady of Fire, she is one of the strongest Archons in Teyvat.
Not much is known about her appearance, except that she uses a female vessel and based on Vennessa and Iansan’s appearances, she may have tanned skin and red fiery hair.
There is no doubt that she is one of the strongest Archons there is in Teyvat as Venti describes her as a “wayward, warmongering wretch”.
It is said that warriors from every tribe would perform rites of combat and celebrate victories in her name.
3BAAL
Baal, the current Electro Archon, is the vessel of Beelzebul, the current Electro Archon of Inazuma. She meditates inside the Plane of Euthymia while letting her puppet control the affairs of the nation.
She is also known as the Raiden Shogun, and she is violent, to say the least. She defeated Signora with one blow, defeated The Traveller in their first encounter easily, slew Orobaxi all by herself and cut a mountain in half with just one blow.
Beelzebul has also retained some of her powers due to her isolation inside the Plane of Euthymia and also because she willingly cut her ties with Celestia.
With all this information, we can easily tell how powerful the Electro Archon really is.
2MORAX
Morax, also known as Rex Lapis, is widely known by the name of Zhongli by Genshin Impact fans. He’s said to be over 6,000 years old thus making him the oldest character in all of Genshin Impact.
Liyue’s Morax, the God of Contracts, has a very different relationship with his people. Morax goes by the name Rex Lapis to the people of Liyue, a great diety known for guiding the people directly.
It’s been stated that he defined the economic growth of Liyue, and consequently, a major influence on the relations between nations.
Much like Barbatos, Morax also has great combat powers. An example of that is, during the Archon War, Morax created the Stone Forest of Guyun with his own spears. Morax has now retired from being an Archon and now lives among the people as a mortal named Zhongli.
1THE TSARITSA
The Tsaritsa is the strongest Archon out of The Seven Archons in Genshin Impact. She is the head of the Fatui and also a Cryo Archon. She has the ability to grant her subjects a power known as Delusions, which is said to be extremely strong.
She is also the supreme ruler of the country of Snezhnaya, but the people there are not a big fan of her. She is theorised to be the God of Love, based on her description in the Travail preview trailer. She is said to be a cruel goddess, who seems to have little respect for the people.
She wishes to burn the old world away, and has collected all the Gnoses to be able to do so, making her the strongest Archon in all of Genshin Impact. This also implies that she could have the powers of the other Archons of The Seven by collecting their Gnosis. She is also presented as the big bad of Genshin Impact.
