Are you ready for a jaw-dropping plot twist in the One Piece universe? It looks like we might be in for a massive showdown between Garp and Blackbeard!
Garp is planning to go after an emperor without even telling the higher-ups because Blackbeard captured his beloved Koby, a big no-no.
Blackbeard will likely win against Garp in a battle due to Garp being considerably past his prime. Nonetheless, Garp may still succeed in saving Koby even if he gets defeated.
If Garp falls, it could be the final push needed to kick off the upcoming War!
1. How strong is Garp?
It’s no wonder Garp is known as the hero of the Marines. Together with Roger, he defeated the notorious pirate crew called The Rock’s Pirates, which featured some of the strongest pirates in history.
Garp is a master of haki, which is why his punches are so devastating. He is also super fast, has extreme stamina, and can withstand a lot of pain without flinching.
Remember when Captain Morgan attacked him with an axe? He didn’t show any sign of being in pain!
Gold D. Roger said that he and Garp nearly killed each other on many occasions, which shows how incredibly powerful Garp is.
2. How strong is Blackbeard?
Blackbeard is one of the four Emperors and easily one of the strongest pirates in the series.
Blackbeard is the only known person in One Piece to have the powers of two devil fruits. He has both Armament and Observation haki down pat, making him a highly dangerous opponent.
Did you know he fought against Shanks and gave him those scars on his eye? Shanks himself admitted that it wasn’t because of carelessness, and the crazy thing is, Teach hadn’t even eaten a devil fruit yet!
Since the time skip, Blackbeard’s notoriety has gone through the roof. His bounty is the highest among the former Warlords of the Sea and the second highest among the current Emperors.
3. Garp vs. Blackbeard – Will the legendary Marine beat the infamous pirate?
Blackbeard nullifies opponents’ devil fruit abilities upon physical contact, but if there’s nothing to nullify, he’s pretty much screwed. Any punch GARP lands will hit twice as hard because of the weird logia fruit.
But Blackbeard won’t be that easy to take down. As one of the four Emperors, he is on par with the strongest yonko Shanks and possesses deadly long and short-range combat abilities.
Blackbeard would win against Garp, as he has grown stronger during the time skip while GARP is almost retired. Unlike Blackbeard, GARP doesn’t have long-range attacks and has no room for physical or haki growth.
4. The Fate of the Captured Captain – Will Garp save Koby?
It’s pretty obvious that Captain Koby will make it out alive since he’s a significant character in the next generation.
Garp will likely save Koby, either by forcing Blackbeard to retreat or even by risking his life for Koby’s safety. Other characters could also come to his aid if things get too intense, such as Kuzan, who might finally switch sides.
Since Kuzan used to be part of the Navy, maybe he’ll help with the escape. No matter what happens, I’m confident that Koby will be okay, physically, at least.
5. The Mysterious Kidnapping of Captain Koby – Why did Blackbeard capture him?
In chapter 1059, it was revealed that Blackbeard captured Captain Koby of the Marines, and everyone was wondering the same thing – why Koby?
You know Blackbeard, he’s a cunning person who only acts if it benefits him in some way, and Koby’s not that strong compared to other marines.
Fans speculate that Blackbeard wants a Devil Fruit that belongs to the Marines and is using Koby as bait to lure them out. Or maybe he plans to turn Koby over to the Cross Guild for the bounty on his head.
He could also use Koby to gather information about SWORD, making him a valuable pawn. Either way, I’m super excited to see how everything unfolds!
