Garling Figarland and Saturn

The latest One Piece chapter 1125 spoilers showed Saturn replaced by Garling Figarland. Speculations are that this might not entirely be a coincidence. There are theories that this was planned and executed. BlacktyonteXavi posted on Twitter about this possible theory.

The theory compares Garling Figareland and Saturn to the Roman Emperors- Ferdinand I and Charles V. Ferdinand was the youngest brother to Charles, and the former was taught science, similar to the Gorosei title. This implies that the former is more capable than the latter.

This is similar to Figarland and Saturn. Even though the two are not related as a family, the other part of the resemblance can be taken into consideration. Thereby deriving that Figarland is more capable to be in the position of Saturn. This connection might have been hinted at in the God Valley Incident.

Is Garling Figarland Strong

Garling Figarland can be considered as one of the strongest Gorosei. This is evident looking at his appearances throughout the manga. He is the Supreme Commander of God’s Night. Apart from that, he is known as the “champion” (King in Viz Media translation) of God’s Valley.

Is Garling Figarland Related to Shanks

There are theories that Garling Figarland is related to Shanks. The theory is based on his red hair color just like Shanks. The name Figarland is also a common factor between the two. This might mean that they are related in a close way or as relatives.

In One Piece manga chapter 434, Whitebeard tells Shanks that his scar aches when he sees his face. This might have a possibility that the scar was caused by Figarland. This is just a possible theory derived by the fans.
