Gangsta is a series with a surprisingly fresh style and action-packed mafia drama. It was released in Summer 2015 and was a hidden gem of the season.
The street-level action mixed with underground politics makes for an absolute package of thrills that wasn’t enough to satisfy fans with just one season.
Hence, ever since the first season concluded, fans are waiting for Season 2 of the anime.
Gangsta is about two problem solvers called the “Handymen” who live in a city called Ergastalum. A couple of years ago, the city’s residents started taking a special drug to enhance their physical abilities after a war that took place.
Soon, the drug started affecting the new generation, where children were born with superhuman abilities.
These children were then subjected to slavery and made to work as mercenaries called Twilights. One of these Twilights is Nicholas, working with his non-Twilight partner Worick as the Handymen, as mentioned earlier.

1. Release Date
Season 2 of Gangsta has not been announced yet.
Apart from the fact that there isn’t enough material for another season, the studio in question, Studio Manglobe, declared bankruptcy in 2015 after getting in an estimated debt of 350,000,000 Japanese Yen (around 3.2 million USD).
If another studio picks up the manga for Season 2, it could be released by Fall 2023 or even later.
Also, mangaka Kohske has recurring health problems, limiting the release of the manga chapters.
The animation of the first season was one of the biggest things that brought the story to life. As it stands now, it is highly unlikely that Gangsta. will get a new season in the coming years.
2. What To Expect From Season 2
Season 1 of Gangsta covered 6 volumes of the manga, which is still ongoing. There are 8 volumes as of now, and the progress is quite slow due to the author’s poor health.
In Season 1, Nicholas and Worick meet Alex, an ex-prostitute who works as their secretary. By the finale, we have Galahad at the Paulklee Colony and the Cristiano Family, hoping that Nicolas would protect Loretta.
We also see Joel confronting Marco about Constance’s disappearance and Worick being suspicious about Ivan’s actions. Season 2 would continue from volume 7 of the manga.

Gangsta is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kohske. It has been published in Shinchosha’s Monthly Comic @BUNCH magazine since 2011.
The series has inspired a spin-off manga, an audio drama series, an anime television series, and an original novel.
Nicholas Brown and Worick Arcangelo are “Handymen” who are mercenaries for hire, contracted by Powerful mob syndicates and police to do any kind of job.
Soon they add Alex Benedetto, a prostitute, to their list for elimination. Twilights, a superhuman being born as the result of a special drug, were once residents of Ergastalum.
Now they are being hunted by a fierce underground organization, and the Handymen will not be able to avoid the coming war.
