The official website Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendou revealed that the anime will start broadcasting from September 8. It will be broadcast on NHK-E from 6:45 to 6:54 PM (every Tuesday).
Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendou is an anime adaptation of the famous children’s novel by Reiko Hiroshima by the same name. The tale of a candy shop that occurs only to lucky people is truly fascinating. It is a pleasant anime with a dark twist.
The main cast of the anime includes Nobue Iketani, who plays Beniko, the mysterious candy shop owner, and Fukujuro Katayama, who plays Beniko’s cat, Sumimaru.
Beniko is an older woman whose age is unknown; she recommends candies according to a person’s wishes. Sumimaru is an intelligent cat who even invites customers to the candy shop sometimes.
Satoshi Tomioka is directing the series under studios Toei Animation and Kanaban Graphics. The series composition and scripting are done by Yuji Kobayashi. Satoru Mashuda is the sound director.
Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendō: Tsuritai Yaki is the film inspired by the novel series.
It was set for an April debut but was indefinitely postponed due to the pandemic. The film adapted the first volume of the novel series, and the anime series will follow it.
