Bandai Namco surprised everyone when they announced the Tales of Luminaria game just days before releasing Tales of Arise. Even without a release schedule, the game is already making waves.
Unlike the precious smartphone Tales games, Tales of Luminaria seems to have the overworld exploration aspect compared to the battle system heavy gameplay. It seems that the story too will be compelling enough, given how it got an anime this soon.
Funimation has announced the anime adaptation of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming smartphone game Tales of Luminaria. The series is titled “Tales of Luminaria the Fateful Crossroad” and will be exclusively available on Funimation.

This wouldn’t be the first of the Tales franchise to receive an anime adaptation. Symphonia, Abyss, Phantasia, Eternia, Vesperia, and Zestria all have either a movie or a full series adaptation.
Although most of them have been quite under the radar, let’s see how this one turns out.
About Tales Franchise
The Tales series is a franchise of fantasy role-playing video games published by Bandai Namco Entertainment (formerly Namco), and developed by its subsidiary, Namco Tales Studio, until 2011 and presently by Bandai Namco Studios. First begun in 1995 with the development and release of Tales of Phantasia for the Super Famicom.
While entries in the series generally stand independent of each other with different characters and stories, they are commonly linked by their gameplay, themes, and high fantasy settings. The series is characterized by its art style, which draws from Japanese manga and anime, and its action-based fighting system called the “Linear Motion Battle System”.
The series has several anime adaptations like Symphonia, Abyss, Phantasia, Eternia, Vesperia, Zestria, and the upcoming Luminaria.
