Fruits Basket has had an everlasting impact on the anime fandom through its sometimes cheesy and sometimes silly dialogues and characters.
The anime managed to etch the hearts of thousands and ready to do it over again with its third and final season. Similar to Attack on Titan in the Shonen genre, Fruits Basket will leave a bittersweet memory for the Shoujo fans.
The story of Fruits Basket follows a young girl, Tohru, who becomes homeless after her mother’s demise and decides to shack up in an old tent in the nearby woods.
She really doesn’t like the idea of inconveniencing anyone so, staying with friends or other relatives was out of the question.
Turns out the forest was owned by a rather wealthy and powerful Soma family who, upon noticing her condition, invite her to stay with them.
However, it turns out that the Soma family has a curse that if they get embraced by anybody of the opposite gender, they turn into the zodiac animals.
The plot deepens as Tohru meets more zodiac family members, and ugly truths about brainwashing and physical abuse start resurfacing.
If you haven’t watched Fruits Basket yet, what are you even doing here? Hurry up and catch up with the first two seasons before the finale!

All of them are bound by a braided thread, symbolizing the curse of the zodiacs and their association with Akito.
We also see Kureno, further away from Akito and outside of the thread, perhaps representing his freedom from the curse.
A new trailer has also been released for Season 3, revisiting the events from older seasons and connecting them to new ones.
Tohru and Kyo have become closer as their feelings for each other have become stronger.
Tohru is determined to break the zodiac curse and save Kyo from his eternal isolation as the cat. Yuki seems to have finally opened his heart to others around him and finally accept himself for who he is.
Meanwhile, Shigure and Akito’s conflict has also been addressed. After a series of back and forth between the characters, we see the thread finally breaking off and a flashback of Shigure confessing to Akito.
