2. Episode 24 Preview & Speculation

The preview of episode 24 was not shown at the end of the previous episode. The title is “You’re here, Machi”. Since at the end of the episode, things have been awkward for Kyo and Tohru, we speculate that in the next episode, Yuki may help in clearing the air between Kyo and Tohru. Also as the title suggests, we will probably see Machi’s past and understand why she always messed up the student council’s room whenever she was alone.

3. Recap of Episode 23

Episode 23 titled, “Something Like Cinderella!” begins with the Cultural festival at Tohru’s school and Momiji along with Kisa and others were headed to watch Cinderella’s play. The title of their play was “Cinderella-ish” as the script was changed according to the casts acting in the play.

The audience was also able to notice that the play was very different than usual as the happy end of the story was Cinderella opening a food stall with her stepsister. As the play got over, Kyo sees that Kazuma had come to watch the play and when he said that he wanted to see Tohru before he leaves, Kyo says that he doesn’t keep a track on Tohru and doesn’t know where she is.

Tohru was in the restroom getting changed and then she was guiding Hiro and Kisa through the School’s festival. Meanwhile, Yuki was kicked out of the student council’s room for patrolling as he was being a distraction. While patrolling, Yuki sees that Machi was being bullied by other girls. When he goes to stop them, Kakeru asks him not to do anything and he goes to the council’s room and makes an announcement saying that anyone can click pictures with Yuki. This acted as a distraction and Machi was left alone.

At the end of the episode, Kyo bumps into Tohru while she was taking care of Hiro and Kisa. They didn’t talk properly with each other, showing that things were awkward between them.

It was serialized in the semi-monthly Japanese magazine Hana to Yume, published by Hakusensha, from 1998 to 2006.

The series’ title comes from the name of a popular game played in Japanese elementary schools, alluded to in the series.

It tells the story of Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who, after meeting Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma, learns that twelve members of the Soma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac and are cursed to turn into their animal forms when they are weak, stressed, or when they are embraced by anyone of the opposite sex that is not possessed by a zodiacal spirit.

As the series progresses, Tohru learns of the hardships and pain faced by the afflicted Somas, and through her own generous and loving nature, helps heal their emotional wounds.
