Free! The Final Stroke movie’s release date is just around the corner. Two months might seem like a lot but, it’ll soon fly away as we catch up with the latest upcoming anime.
All fans of the franchise (including me) are waiting for this one last chance to commit every character to memory. It will be a continuation of the third season, and I am ready to experience that gorgeous animation style again.
Free! The Final Stroke is a pair of films whose first part will premiere on September 17, 2021, and the second part will be released on April 22, 2022.
Earlier this month, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, the voice actor of Makoto Tachibana from the Free! franchise was announced to be on a hiatus.
The good news for Tatsuhisa fans is that he is returning from his hiatus soon. The cast member will continue voicing Makoto, who is an integral part of the franchise.
Tatsuhisa’s presence is even more necessary as he is a member of the OLDCODEX band that has contributed several theme songs to the Free! anime series and is also performing the theme song for the upcoming movie.
The upcoming anime film will also release limited edition mubichike cards that have individual character visuals on them from August 27. The cards cost $13.68, including tax, and are only usable for the movie’s first part.
Now you also have the chance to see your beloved characters in traditional costumes offering Chinese menus. A limited-edition collaboration cafe at Ikebukuro will be open from September 10 to October 31.
Different goods like placemats and coasters with Free! illustrations on them will be given to customers who order within this time limit.
Free! is leaving no stones unturned to amp up the excitement for its final movie. With limited edition chances and the return of Tatsuhisa Suzuki, things seem to be going well before the film’s release.
About Free!
Free! is animated by Kyoto Animation and is loosely based on the light novel, High Speed!, by Koji Oji.
The series revolves around members of a high school boy’s swimming team. The youngsters participate in a swimming tournament right before they graduate from middle school and go their separate ways.
Free! has a unique concept by using the sport of competitive swimming as their focal point. The animation, art, and sound used in the series complement the story well.
