Digimon Adventure recently celebrated its 20th anniversary on 25th March with the release of a feature film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna and with the announcement that a brand new reboot of the series will be launched this year.
Unfortunately, this new reboot series has been postponed indefinitely because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Toei Animation has found a way to cheer everyone up and has decided to bring the English dub of four major Digimon anime classics to Hulu. Toei Animation confirmed the news on its Twitter account.

are all now streaming on @hulu!! pic.twitter.com/YL5vppvV2i
The first four series namely:
- Digimon Adventure
- Digimon Adventure 02
- Digimon Tamers
- Digimon Frontier
These titles can now be streamed through Hulu. Even better news for fans worldwide is that these are English dubbed releases of the seasons.
These series used to available on Hulu at one point in time, but Hulu’s license expired, rendering the series unavailable. Thankfully, the fans of this classic series of this franchise can enjoy streaming them again, and they can use these to pass their time before the franchise returns with the reboot (hopefully).
These four seasons consist only of a part of the huge franchise but has the largest fan-base. Several fan-favorite Digimons come from these 4 series. In many cases, the dubbed versions are way more popular than their original counterparts, this can especially be seen in the case of Digimon Tamers.
We sincerely hope the other series and films can be brought back to Hulu as well so that we can get the full Digimon Experience.
About Digimon
Digimon, short for “Digital Monsters,” is a Japanese media franchise offering toy pets, manga, anime, games, films, and even a trading card game. The franchise was created back in 1997 as a series of virtual pets, influenced by Tamagotchi/nano Giga Pet toys. The franchise gained momentum with its first anime, Digimon Adventure, and an early video game, Digimon World, both of which were released in 1999.
Digimon, the series focuses on monsters like creatures, who inhabit a “Digital World,” a parallel universe that originated from Earth’s various communication networks. Digimon hatch from eggs called Digi-Eggs, and they go through Digivolution, which changes their appearance and increases their powers over time.
The effect of Digivolution, however, is not permanent. Digimon who have digivolved will find most of the time revert back to their previous form after a battle or if they are too weak to continue. Most of them can even speak.
