Developer Studio Turn 10 had promised that their upcoming title Forza Motorsport will boast a considerable roster of 500 cars, along with visual and gameplay mechanic upgrades.
As per the game’s creators, this is set to be the “most technologically advanced racing game ever made.” The game will have dynamic environment variables that include weather, track, temperature, and even rubbering.
They promised that these variables would change throughout the game, promising that no two laps would be the same. They paid particular attention to the car engine and exhaust noise. It was also mentioned that of the 500-plus cars available at launch, over 100 are pure racing cars.
In the latest community post on forza.net, the developers mentioned that they were polishing up Forza Motorsport for a release later this year. They mentioned that they are still accepting improvement suggestions and track requests.
It was added that the “Interlagos” track has been the #1 voted track, followed by the Fujimi Kaido. While they are yet to announce the complete set of 20 tracks, they invited more suggestions.
Regarding tracks, it was mentioned that there were five new tracks in the total mix. They performed highly detailed photogrammetry and collected laser-scanned data that inched up to 3 terabytes. Meanwhile, all the tracks have been rebuilt to struggle and master.
The new sound samples, as mentioned by Chase Combs, the Project Audio Director, make each car come to life. A new track announcer system comes with a Japanese announcement when racing around the track of Hakone.
Feature-wise, there would be ray tracing, car damage and dust buildup that would function in real-time and with realistic physics. Even the individual scratches on the bodywork are cared for.
The game is set to come out later this year, as announced on the PC and Xbox Series X|S, with up to 10x more details on the Xbox platform. Players hope for a concrete release date on the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th, targeting October or November.
