Forza Horizon 5 is now just a couple of weeks away, and Playground Studios has made the pre-loads available. This will allow fans to download the game onto their systems, so it’s ready to play as soon as the countdown hits zero. With the release of the pre-loads, we now also know how much space is needed to install the game.
The developer announced that pre-loads have gone live across PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. A blog post from the developer has also revealed the massive size of the racing game. Forza Horizon 5 will be 103GB on PC and next-gen Xbox consoles but 116GB on Xbox One.
Regarding the disparity of file sizes between the last-gen console and next-gen console, Playground Studios had this to say.
With the high-speed internal SSD storage found on Xbox Series X|S consoles, we’ve reduced the install footprint of Forza Horizon 5 on those systems by optimizing our assets for higher bandwidth streaming.

Forza Horizon 5 is available for pre-load on all systems, and this is not restricted to just those who have purchased the game; Xbox Game Pass members can also pre-load the game.
This is an excellent move by the studio, as it means everyone interested will be able to hop on to play as soon as the gates are opened. But, as is the case with all newly launched games, the more people on the servers will mean a greater load on them as well, so expect some bugs and glitches here and there.
Playground Studios has been doing a good job keeping the hype active and high for Forza Horizon 5. Their regular Forza Horizon 5: Let’s Go! Livestreams have given fans quite a lot of information regarding the game and what they can expect. Forza Horizon 5 is set in a fictional representation of Mexico. Players will race through various kinds of biomes in the game, and will have access to a number of professional racing cars.
