Forza Horizon 5 launched on Xbox to overwhelmingly positive reviews, and developers Playground Games has been hard at work to add more post-launch content to their racing sim.
The game will be getting the major Update 4 soon, and the developer is celebrating the Chinese New Year by adding some Chinese-manufactured cars and a full-fledged Mandarin Chinese voice-over.
The latest installment in the Forza series continues the seasonal progression model of the previous games, and this system allows the team to carefully curate content coming to the title. Season 4 will be adding some cars to the game Forza fans have never had access to before, and all have been sourced from Chinese manufacturers.
The four specific Chinese cars being added are the MG XPower SV-R (2005), Wuling Hongguang S (2013), MG MG3 (2015), and NIO EP9 (2016). Most of these cars will be available as seasonal unlocks for Season 4’s progression; the MG XPower SV-R will be exclusive for Car Pass owners and will be available from February 10th.
These cars will also be in the budget vehicles category, adding some much-awaited variety to the low-end racing meta.
The inclusion of the two MG vehicles is interesting to see. The British car manufacturer has been owned by Chinese automaker Nanjing Automobile since 2005, making the car a perfect addition to the Chinese-themed Season 4.
Even though the four Chinese cars are the main focus of Season 4, Playground will be introducing a number of other cars as well, such as the Volkswagen Golf R (2019), Mazda 323 GT-R (1992), and Porsche 911 Sport Classic (2010).
New activities and events are also coming to Forza Horizon 5 as part of Update 4, some that will last throughout the season. The Horizon World Cup will bring large-scale competitions to the game, and players can use cars from specific countries to represent them. Season 4 will be made available on February 10th.
