Fortnite’s Caffeinated Emote Returns with Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ Song

After fan backlash for the remix non-official usage of the Espresso song track behind the Caffeinated emote, Epic Games has removed it from the Item Shop.

Fortnite is re-releasing the Caffeinated emote with Sabrina Carpenter’s original Espresso song in the upcoming v32.00 update.

1. Caffeinated Emote Returns

Fortnite’s highly anticipated v32.00 update is set to drop on November 2, 2024. This change comes after multiple disappointed reviews by fans over the emote’s initial release, which featured a sped-up remix of the track instead of the chart-topping original.

Epic Games has officially confirmed the return of the Caffeinated emote, featuring Sabrina Carpenter’s original hit track, Espresso.

Including Sabrina Carpenter in Fortnite was a significant moment, given her incredible rise in 2024 with a number-one album and hit singles like Espresso.

However, when Sabrina’s Caffeinated Emote was first introduced, fans were frustrated by the decision to use the sped-up Double Shot remix instead of the original song. The backlash was swift, with players voicing their disappointment across social media.

Responding to the outcry, Epic Games removed the emote from the item shop shortly after its release. After months of waiting, Fortnite players will finally get the Espresso emote in its intended form. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Epic Games stated:

“We are updating the Caffeinated Emote to play the originally intended audio of Espresso in the upcoming v32.00 build. It will automatically update in everyone’s locker if purchased and will return to the Item Shop shortly after release.”

The v32.00 update, dropping on November 2, will begin Chapter 2 Remix, bringing exciting new content to the game. Along with the return of the Caffeinated emote, fans can expect refreshed versions of popular skins and a return to fan-favorite map locations.

This update also marks the end of Chapter 5, Season 4, packed with thrilling events and collaborations.

For those who purchased the original emote and were disappointed by the remix track, Epic has confirmed that players can refund it at no cost if they prefer the older version. According to Epic:

“Anyone who purchased Caffeinated before this adjustment will be able to return it without spending a ticket if they prefer.”
