For All Mankind Season 3 Episode 5 Recap
The episode starts with the Russian and American crew grieving for their fellow astronauts after they were killed in the fuel tank explosion. The former rivals have now banded together to beat Helios in the space mission to Mars.
The Russians arrive at NASA HQ and place an unofficial request to resume some of their original objectives for the mission, for which they would have to utilize some of the Americans’ resources.
Margo demands to know what these objectives are, but Director Catiche claims she’s not at liberty to reveal that information. Faced with a difficult decision, Margo says she will agree to the terms only if Sergei Nikulov is brought in and gives her an ultimatum to get Sergei to Houston within two weeks.
Meanwhile, on Helios, Ed’s crew manages to override the system and regain control of their ship. He contacts Dev to let him know that he found his actions to be dishonorable and that he will be the one controlling the ship from now on.
Karen agrees with Ed and resigns from Helios as her daughter is on the Sojourner too and could’ve been left to die because of Dev’s decision. Back at NASA Headquarters, Aleida makes the startling discovery that the Russians stole her nuclear-thermal engine designs and tells Margo, who feigns surprise.
