Episode 9 of the Food Wars! Season 5 anime, titled “ The God Tongue’s Despair,” will be released on Friday, August 28, 2020.
In the next episode, the book master’s decision to allow Erina to compete in the tournament will be announced!

2. Episode 9 Preview & Speculation
The preview of episode 9, titled “The God Tongue’s Despair,” was not shown at the end of episode 8. We are speculating the next round of food wars will take place in the BLUE castle.
But before that, all the contestants have gathered to watch the situation on the outside as Erina has managed to defeat all the loser chefs alone! The book master has been notified of Erina’s win and will have to allow her into the actual match.
Judging from the book master’s words of not needing the God’s Tongue after they let Erina win, we may get to see the book master appear to judge Erina’s next match against a Noir chef if Erina is allowed to compete.
Anyhow, we are close to the revelation of the book master’s face as she has been hiding all along, will she let Erina into the castle?
3. Recap of Episode 8
I. Don Kama’s multicolored verrine
Episode 8, titled “The Missing Half of the Moon,” begins with Takumi Aldini vs. Don Kama’s team battle! But Don Kama tells Takumi his brother was not going to make it because Isami was trapped in an abandoned building under Don Kama’s orders!
Meanwhile, Yukihira and his friends are deceived and purposely given wrong directions to Takumi’s match so that none of them could help Takumi in the team battle according to Don Kama’s plan. The team battle begins with their challenge to prepare an Amuse-Bouche!
Don Kama and his girls begin preparing their dish and, with excellent coordination, present a multilayered Amuse-Bouche. The judges rave about Don Kama’s brilliant dish.
II. The Yukihira-Takumi tag team!
On the other hand, Yukihira shows up at the venue and pairs up with Aldini. Still, Don Kama calls for disqualification because the team member couldn’t just show up anytime, and his name was to be registered beforehand.
The book master allows the change of member, so Yukihira and Aldini begin cooking along with their bickering. But they show off their impeccable teamwork, which almost seemed like they were dancing and matching each other’s rhythm.
Yukihira and Aldini got on this level purely because of competing against each other in various Shokugeki matches refusing to accept defeat to the other. Aldini presents his yin-yang verrine to the judges, who announce them as winners because of the refined taste of their Amuse-Bouche, commenting that they’ve never had a fantastic combination of two dishes that weren’t meant to go together turtle shell and cheese.
Isami safely returns, and on the outside, Erina defeats all the chefs!
