In episode 6 of “Fluffy Paradise”, titled “The Desire to Become Stronger”, the hobgoblin fought the frost spider to protect Neema and emerged victorious. 2. Episode 7 Speculation
Neema seems to have found a way to have monsters and humans live in harmony. So far, she hasn’t told the duke any details of her plan, but the duke trusts Neema, so he will aid her in any way he can. We also saw that Neema is much stronger than we had anticipated so far. At least she was strong enough to name creatures as strong as Shinki, our hobgoblin friend who just evolved.
In the following episodes, Neema will take steps according to her plan with the duke and Shinki’s help. She gained a lot of allies from this mission, and she’s growing in strength and influence with each new episode. The chances that her plans will fail are very low, but we still don’t know what the plan actually is. To find that answer, we’ll have to wait for episode 7.
3. Recap of Episode 6
To protect Neema from the spider’s attack, the hobgoblin steps up into the battle. The spider was much stronger than him, but he still managed to defeat it somehow after a fierce battle. It was partly thanks to the shield Neema previously cast on him. When the fight was going on, Neema constantly felt a sense of panic from the spider.
Only after the monster was defeated did Neema realize the cause of that panic. The spider was pregnant, so it needed a lot of food. The disbalance of the ecosystem disrupted its needs, and that’s why it attacked them. Before its death, the spider finally requested Neema to save its kid.
Something wonderful happened afterward as a bright light emitted from the hobgoblin, and its looks changed into something that resembled an oni. The duke said that it might have undergone an evolution, but Sol said that hobgoblins aren’t supposed to evolve, and he’ll visit them the next day to see for himself.
Neema also took the baby spider under her wing and gave it a name. A mark of loyalty appeared on its head, which we later learn was given to monsters who received names from a strong individual. The death of the frost spider gave birth to a strong desire inside Neema so that she could protect the animals and the monsters.
After learning about the spider, the duke was extremely surprised to see that it was black, meaning it was one of a kind, but he was even more shocked when he learned that Neema had given it a name. Naming monsters increased their strength drastically. The duke finally agreed to let Neema keep it.
The next day, the duke sent Pino and Nino back to their home safely, and before leaving, Nino invited Neema to visit their home someday. Shortly after, Sol came to visit them and told them the hobgoblin didn’t turn into an oni. Onus can’t use elemental powers, but the hobgoblin seemed to have that ability.
While Sol told him the basics of elemental magic, one of the knights crafted a clay golem for the hobgoblin to practice. However, everyone was left speechless when the hobgoblin annihilated the golem by simply saying, “Defeat the clay doll”. He was strong as it was, but Neema accidentally ended up naming him, increasing his powers a lot more. That’s how we met our new friend Shinki.
