The genre of magical school is not something unfamiliar. It’s just that it is not too dabbled into. The Irregular at Magic High School, Little Witch Academia, and The Familiar of Zero; there are some good ones to look into.
If you prefer stories like these, then how about something with a Western classic theme (and a more serious tone)?
On Friday, the production staff for the anime adaptation of Reign of the Seven Spellblades released the first promo and visual for the series. They have also revealed the main cast, staff, and the release window. The anime will premiere sometime in July.
In the beginning, we get to see the Kimberly Magic School, a magical castle fortress. Apart from students, it is also home to mythical creatures like dragons. We are introduced to the main characters Oliver, Katie, Guy, Pete, Michela, and Nanao.
As the video continues to show the world of magic with diverse spells, it shows Oliver wondering why he is drawn to Nanao and wonders about his destiny.

As for the team behind the production, J.C. Staff will produce the anime. Masato Matsune will act as the director, with Shoko Yasukawa working on the scripts. Sōta Suwa will design the characters. Kujira Yumemi is the music composer for the series.
From the video, the anime shows similarity with the popular Harry Potter franchise. The magical creatures, a group of friends, and the secrets of the school evoke the same emotions of enchantment and fear. This could be a good watch.

Reign of the Seven Spellblades (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru) is a light novel series written by Bokuto Uno and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki. ASCII Media Works publish it under their Dengenki Bunko imprint. As of 2023, it is collected into 11 volumes.
New students arrive in springtime at the prestigious Kimberly Magic School. Among them is Oliver Horn, who has a vendetta of his own. However, not everything seems what it seems at Kimberly, and Oliver has to survive for seven years, make friends, and uncover the mysteries for his mission.
