There seems to be no end to the creative stories manga and anime share with us. What amazes me is that an entire story can be created with a simple central idea. For example, a school romance with a shy boy and a girl with poor vision!
Sounds strange? That is understandable. But Koume Fujichika’s manga The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses is exactly about that. Plus, now you will soon get to watch it on TV.
On Tuesday, the official website for the anime series released its first promotional video and visual. The anime is slated for a July 2023 premiere.
The video focus on the two main characters – Kaede Komura and Ai Mie. While Komura is drawn towards her, he notices what eventually becomes the main theme. Mie has terrible vision without her glasses, and she must squint her eyes and lean forward to see properly.
As per the official website, the voice cast for Komura and Mie is listed below:
Character | Voice Artist | Other Works |
Kaede Komura | Masahiro Itō | Kyōya Hashiba (Remake Our Life!) |
Ai Mie | Shion Wakayama | Takina Inoue (Lycoris Recoil) |
The main staff includes Susumu Kudo as the chief director and Katsumasa Yokomine as the director. Tamazo Yanagi has written the scripts, and Takayuki Uchida designs the characters. Jimmy Thumb P is the music composer, and GoHands is the series producer.
While the manga has been popular among those who wear prescription glasses, I think it will be a great way for others to relate to their everyday problems. Stories like this can sensitize the masses and help them connect to a specific group.
